There is a growing movement called effective altruism. It’s important because it combines both the heart and the head.
Peter Singer

WHY WE EXIST

Inspired by Peter Singer’s book The Life You Can Save, the Run to Better Days aims to inspire people to believe that they can make a difference in the lives of the world’s poorest people, and provide them with the tools to do so. Read about our mission»

THE RUN TO BETTER DAYS

The Run was started in 2012 and has become an annual event with three main components:
  • A relay-style run over thousands of kilometers by 20-30 participants
  • Delivering lectures and talks to schools, universities and community organisations
  • Fundraising for our chosen charity Against Malaria Foundation

WHO WE ARE

We are students who are passionate answering the question ‘how can I do the most amount of good?’ We recognise that:

  • We are in a unique position to do good, and it’s important that we care.
  • Through rational decision making, we can make a much larger difference.
  • We can, and do, enjoy doing it!
